Challenge

As Allkin Singapore grew, its leaders saw the need for a consistent, values-driven leadership culture across all staff. To sustain growth and foster collaboration, the organisation sought a common framework for service-oriented leadership that aligned individual strengths with organisational purpose and could be embedded into core people systems for long-term impact.

Solution

Since 2020, Allkin has rolled out Serving Leader trainings for all staff, bringing John Stahl-Wert’s 5 Actions of a Serving Leader to life through experiential learning. The programme integrated Gallup StrengthsFinder®, enabling individuals to identify and harness their unique talents in service of the team.

To ensure sustainability, the 5 Actions were integrated into performance management and staff onboarding, aligning them with Allkin’s mission, vision, and values, so that every staff member—new or experienced—could practice and apply these principles consistently. In 2025, “DNAllkin” was launched to recognise staff who have lived out the Allkin values and leaders who have upended the pyramid.

Success

This initiative has built a strong, service-based leadership culture at Allkin. Staff across all levels now share a clear, actionable framework for leading through service, using their strengths to drive collaboration, and embodying Allkin’s values daily. Over  350 participants from the Serving Leaders trainings rated an average of 8/10 for alignment with Allkin’s great purpose, mission and values. Their 2025 Employee Engagement Survey recorded a 69% engagement score, with top strengths in “Commitment to Sector”, “Immediate Manager Effectiveness” and “Purpose & Mission”.

By embedding the 5 Actions of a Serving Leader into its systems, Allkin has moved from teaching leadership to living it — resulting in stronger teamwork, deeper staff engagement, and creating positive impact for the communities it serves.
